How To Dye Your Hair At Home

Dying your hair at home can save you time and alot of money. However there are a few things you should know first to avoid a hair tragedy.
1) Know your hue. Don't stray more then one level above or below your natural hair color category. Hair color category meaning light brown, dark blonde, red, etc.
2) Match the color swatch to your roots NOT your ends. The hair on the ends is much older and changes (i.e. lighter from the sun).
3)Don't use the whole box if you don't have to. Most likely you will the first time, but touch ups require much less.
4) Apply color to your roots first. Once 3/4 of the time is up put the remainder on the rest of your hair. This way your roots are tinted and your ends are shiny and rich.
So go ahead give it a try. There are so many great products right at your local drug store. Follow these few steps and you will have lush locks!

The Trick For Lush Lashes

Everyone wants to have long, lush eyelashes. And lets face it falsies are such a pain to apply. All my life people have asked me if my eyelashes are real and yes they are, I never wear fake eyelashes because I could never put them on properly. They key is to take your time when applying mascara making sure you get every lash. You also want to apply a lot of coats, reapplying before the last coat dries. The one thing that I do, even though I know every beauty professional is against it, is that I always finish with curling my eyelashes. And yes I mean the final step after I apply my mascara. Some say this isn't good for your eye lashes but I love the results and have been doing it for 10 years without any problems, just compliments =)

Spotlight On: Make Up For Ever

I must admit I have always been a MAC makeup junkie but I instantly have fallen in love with Make Up For Ever's line of cosmetics. Is it pricey? Yes, however it really truly is worth it. It's colors are vibrant and the the cosmetics create a flawless look that don't budge all day.
The go-to brand for industry insiders and beauty buffs the world over, Make Up For Ever was created in 1984 in the discreet Parisian workshop-boutique of makeup artist Dany Sanz. It didn't take long before famous makeup artists, models, and movie stars heard about the collection and came calling for its amazing shades and high-performance formulations. Now, Make Up For Ever has grown into a major beauty brand, without ever losing its cult appeal.
Complexion 101
It makes perfect sense that Make Up For Ever artistic director Dany Sanz was previously a painter, since flawless skin is the everyday version of an artist's canvas. In order for the color and texture on top to be its most gorgeous and true, what lies beneath must be perfectly prepped, smoothed, primed, and perfected. Through extensive research, Sanz has developed a collection of products that reveal the radiance of every complexion, protecting, mattifying, and illuminating, while taking into consideration skin's individual needs. The Importance of Primer

Makeup artists use a primer to create the perfect canvas for foundation application. Use it after moisturizing and before makeup to ensure a great complexion. The silky blend of vitamins and antioxidants smoothes and perfects skin, while the unique formula helps to inhibit the destruction of collagen, and fills in fine lines and pores for a flawless finish. It also evens out your skin's texture. My favorite is Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer in the original (colorless) formula. It is $36 and a Best of Sephora 2007 Winner. Visit www.sephora.com to order.

High Definition Microfinish Powder

I must rave to everyone about this new product I just tried, it is Make Up Forever's High Definition Microfinish Powder. It is a universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone. It sets the foundation and slightly mattifies skin without changing its natural contours. This 100% Mineral Silica Powder softens the appearance of imperfections. Completely evens out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look. One universal shade for all skin tones. It has a soft focus effect for HD Cameras and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and imperfections. It is dermatologically tested and talc free. You can find cheaper versions out there since it is 100% silica but I must say it does exactly what it says, it creates a flawless face. It is $30, order at www.sephora.com.

Bumble and Bumble Tonic Shampoo

Every now and then one's hair needs a good, deep cleaning. Especially in the summer when you are in the pools and ocean more often. Not to mention the daily hair products that build up over time. One of the best deep clean shampoos that I have come across is Bumble and Bumbles Tonic Shampoo. Restores and brings life to your hair. Formulated with Tea Tree oil and a natural antiseptic to clean and give hair a healthy feel while peppermint, rosemary, and menthol rejuvenates the scalp. I would recommend this to anyone unless you have color treated hair. If you do try to use this only once a week. If not use as often as you like. Visit www.folica.com to order as it is just under $20 right now.

Cute Summer Dresses at Arden B

My absolute favorite thing to wear during this hot weather is a cute summer dress. You can dress it down with flip flops during the day or dress it up with a pair of platforms at night. It is a sure way of always looking put together while being as comfortable as one can be in the humidity. It is also so easy to accessorize. Arden B has a ton of chic and fab dresses to choose from this season. Their collection has everything from minis to maxis, classic black to gorgeous summer colors. I find personally that their dresses are the most comfortable around. Prices range from $100 to $200, visit www.ardenb.com to shop.
